Babies and their cell phones

Adrian: "Mommy, Can I have my own phone for my next birthday?" 
Me: "Ummm no." 
Javier: "Can me and Dominic?" 
Me: "Ummm no." 
Javier: "Why not?" 
Me: "Because 5 and 7 is not old enough for a cell phone." 
Javi: "Well, (so&so) has one and he's only 7." 
Me: "Well, I guess he is pretty lucky, but I'm sorry you're not going to get one any time soon." 
Adrian: "Why not?" 
Me: "Because Daddy and I think 5 and 7 are way too young." 
Javi: "Well, (so&so) has one too and he's only 6." 
Me: "Wow! Well, you have another very lucky friend." 
Javi: "Well, I know someone in kindergarten who has a cell phone too." 
Me: "Well, some people will have things you don't have, and you'll have things they don't have, and it's all going to be alright." 
Javi, sighing loudly but not quite defeated. "Well, even at Spanish Schoolhouse when I was in preschool, some of the BABIES had phones. Their own. As in theirs. All for them." 
Me: "Oh look! There are a bunch of birds over there!" 
Javi: "I know you're just trying to make me forget so I'm just going to ask Santa." 😳
